About Luxe Laundress

Luxe Laundress is the home for laundry and dry-cleaning experts. The proprietor Irmalyn Omenihu is a Sydney-based laundry and dry-cleaning expert with over 20 years of industry experience. Her laundry & dry-cleaning journey started in 2001 when she was employed as a laundry & dry-cleaning supervisor at Sydney’s prestigious Westin Hotel where she worked for 13 years. As a supervisor, she was responsible for caring for luxury and elegant clothing belonging to VIP guests and high-profile celebrities. From her first year, she developed a strong passion for handling and caring for luxury clothing.

Her passion for laundry & dry cleaning motivated her to obtain a certificate III in Laundry & Dry-cleaning Operations including a certified license in laundry & dry cleaning in 2006. Her future goal was to one day establish her own laundry and dry-cleaning business to provide customers with quality service and a personalised experience.

In May 2013, Irmalyn decided to accept an offer to be an operational manager of a reputable family-owned business located in King’s Cross where she worked for 5 years. This managerial position helped her gain more skills and knowledge in handling all types of garments. Irmalyn believes that excellent service is beyond cleaning or washing clothes for customers but establishing one-on-one relationships with customers that are based on trust. For this reason, she ensured that all the delicate and luxurious clothing they received was washed and cleaned by herself.

In June 2020, she was offered to work as a private laundress in Sydney's Eastern suburb of Point Piper for a prestigious high-profile family. In this role, she would go on to care for the family's wardrobes, designer clothing, table cloths, serviettes, bed linens, towels, pressing and steaming of clothes at modelling photoshoots. Her extraordinary experience and creativity have earned her lifetime friends and customers.
